show photos & review - may 25th hwf3 night

harbour water fest 3 is done. I caught a few shows including the friday evening show at shake it dance studio.
lots of people showed up - more then i anticipated - which was really nice - but i didn't come mentally prepared to be around that many people at once. I left for a bit and unfortunately missed eekum seekum before I returned. I've seen them play a few times before. I feel like they are getting better every time I see them. not just playing better together, but playing more interesting songs. this definitely goes for the vixens too who played that night as well. The songs i liked most from the vixen's set didn't seem familiar. That doesn't mean any of them were new though, I also don't get out that much.

I'm glad that I caught tongan death grip - it sounds like it may be the last time that i do as the band seems to be broken up now. They did what they did, and they did it well.
i don't really know money in the banana stand. I remember thinking they came across as sincere and
appreciated that about them. From PEI, hope they come back again.

concrete asylum were great. not much to say - they are one of my favourite halifax bands right now. If you haven't seen them yet, where have you been?

fail better came all the way from montreal. not really my thing, but they definitely added a certain something to the mix. They stand out as the band who brought the politics. Some of it may not be for everyone, but there is a time and a place for everything and i'm glad this show was one of those places. It was interesting hearing about the student strike stuff in montreal from folks that are living there.

Some folks brought stuff to distro as well and it made me a little nostalgic for the 90's when every collective and community/activist group around wanted to setup a table full of crap at every show. What happened to those days? It's probably the Internets fault somehow. fucking internet. overall it was a great night. had some fun. people seemed stoked.
thanks to the folks that made this and the rest of harbour water fest 3 happen!
