MOGLI


mogli david grew up on the eastern shore of nova scotia & spent her childhood speaking french to ducks & bringing frozen reptiles back to life.
she has crossed the continent several times playing solo or in bands like snail party, the official suckers & the ash cats, while fronting the bands jackfish & ants & anchors locally in halifax.
currently she lives in the woods of british columbia's slocan valley.
she leaves behind her a trail of slime & heavy hearts.

SNAIL PARTY


snail party is a flailing orchestra with either too many or too little feelings, made up of several scum fucks, a handful of crusty queers & a couple mortals too. you'll likely find them singing together, stepping on each other's toes, shooting roman candles off while puking blood & acrylic paint on you. since 2011 they've toured several times across the north american continent from newfoundland to british columbia, from to california to lousiana.

THE OFFICIAL SUCKERS

the official suckers evolved out of the solo fairy boy project into a disjointed band with different voices coming in & out.
"the official suckers do not suck. in fact, i imagine most of the kids at the show think they suck the least out of everyone who played. for such intricate songs, with lyrics which dont rhyme, but tell important heart felt meandering and beautiful stories, i was amazed by how many people knew all the words...  songs about your city, your everyday geography, telling its stories mixed up with your own is inspiring. its like audio graffiti written in the hearts and minds of all those who listen."

BYRON.


born up the tracks from the etobicoke creek, byron.’s been singing since the boys choir at school or the children's choir at church.
since leaving both institutions and gone travelling byron learned to play guitar and banjo somewhere along the line and wrote some songs down.
although byron may not be a true blue halifax punk he has resided in & visited the city several times over the past few years.

FAIRY BOY

fairy boy started out in 2006 with a confused, furious & emotional seventeen year old obsessed with the weakerthans who couldn't sing so they screamed instead. left home, toured, traveled & settled in halifax. slowly came to terms with identity, sexuality & associated shame through three albums, "PANIC SONGS", "WINTER" & "STAY HERE".
evolved into the official suckers in early 2010.

STORY.

















story is an multi instrumentalist songwriter from prince edward island. she has toured & travelled across the continent countless times with several punk bands like missed life, eviction party, uncle & also solo with cud eastbound, fairy boy, mogli & travesty.
her songs are painfully honest in lyrics & beautifully melodic in sounds. seeing her play has often felt like reading a diary filled with secrets & heartbroken musings. story has spent time living in pei, nova scotia & newfoundland, with her home more recently being charlottetown, pei.
"I live in the forests of a tiny Island on the East Coast of Canada, in a house i built. It's amazing. Sad love songs, happy love songs, funny love songs. I play accordion and banjo."

THE ASH CATS


much beloved halifax bluegrass trio. formed while the members were in high school, they eventually scaled down their initial electric/acoustic approach for a simpler, un-amplified three piece made up of amy keeler, travesty smith & mogli david. the ash cats were a mainstay & crowd favourite in the early agricola open mic house mondays in halifax. they recorded one album, filmed a music video & toured to ontario by way of hitch hiking before going on indefinite hiatus.their songs are frequently covered at other halifax open mics.
